Created back in 2010 when HD video was a thing and required a moderately good PC to view, this little project of ours is still out there and may help some riders looking to get to grips with the techniques used in trials. While trials has come a long way since then, the basics still apply.
Our course is divided into 4 categories. Each guide shows the prerequisites and the lists below are structured in a specific learning order.
Basics of bike control:
- Lifting front wheel without using brakes
- Lifting rear wheel without using brakes
- Jumping up with both wheels
- Trackstand
Controlling the bike while stationary:
- Static jumps
- Side jumps
- Rear wheel pivot
- Front wheel pivot
- Front and rear wheel pivots combined
- Riding backwards
Introducing rear wheel control and clearing basic obstacles:
Advanced techniques:
- Perfecting pedal kicks
- Adding momentum to static jumps
